Sideways Festival returns for the third time this year in Helsinki. Various One Quarters give their recommendations, which you can read whilst listening to our hand-picked 25 track Sideways playlist!
I would be interested in Tommy Cash & The Radio Dept.

Section Boyz (thumbs up!). They have been quiet for a while… Calm before storm?
This year for me Sideways means giving the gift of going to my wife so that she can go and I can stay home with our child. There is a great selection of acts this year. I hope she and everyone else has a great time and fingers crossed that the weather is good.
Because I have a little baby at home it’s not possible for me to stay out all night. I am so happy that there is so many brilliant acts during the daytime (Saturday) : Pimeys, Kauriinmetsästäjät, Death Hawks, Oddarrang, Kube… to name a few.
It might be because I’m getting older, and a general burning out of going to festivals, that I’ve not got to excited by any festivals this year. Perhaps it’s the lack of the ‘shock of the new’ that’s missing. Sideways has a lot of music I’ve seen live many times already. One exception is Chelsea Wolfe (though I’m not such a big fan)- and she’s on my list. Karina, Kynett, The Radio Dept. offer interest and those old grungers Dinosaur Jr and Thurston Moore will be worth an ear shredding once again. But what I’m looking forward to most of all – and the stuff I enjoy most about festivals nowadays – will be two days hanging in teurastamo catching up with old friends and maybe meeting new ones – that will make the weekend more than worthwhile.
