This week One Quart celebrates the Helsinki Comics Festival and the joy of the visual narrative with a series of artists who we think you should know better – hand picked by Karstein Volle. Today we feature Ossi Hiekkala.
Ossi Hiekkala
Karstein Volle: Hi, how are you?
Ossi Hiekkala: Still alive.
KV: Of all the more lucrative and less work intensive disciplines within the visual arts field, why comics?
OH: Hey! I never said I was the shining light in the darkness.
KV: What is your dream project?
OH: Hopefully the next one I am supposed to make. Or it can be my nightmare project. Wait and see.

Ossi Hiekkala
KV: Tell me about an unfinished project of yours. No matter if it’s going to be finished, in progress or if it crashed and burned.
OH: Well, it is going to be noir in the real sense of the word – meaning unlikable losers knowingly making wrong choices, but cannot help themselves. Sex, violence and art.
KV: Where will all this end?
OH: I don’t know where but I know how. It going to end bad. Very bad. Like life always.
